Round 3 Manly are pitted against the defending premiers North Shore at Mike Pawley Oval. The coin feel in North Shore’s favour who sent us in. Ky continued his good form with another good opening innings. James and Tom again got starts but just could not convert, their form indicates a big score is just around the corner. Jackson continued his good form only bad luck stopped another good score.

Jack played a magnificent innings continuing the great form he has shown all year. Jack was joined by Lachie to ensure we had a fighting chance, combining for a 52 run partnership. A total of 166 meant tight bowling was needed.

Into the field, Toby and Sam opened the bowling and immediately applied the handbrake with great line and length bowling and were supported by energetic fielding. Tight bowling meant North Shore had to take a risk, Ethan took the first wicket. At the first drinks break North Shore were 1/33 off 17 overs, Manly have bowled themselves into the game.

Joel entered the attack, bowling his best spell in rep cricket. It was a great battle, focused batting against smart accurate bowling. Joel claimed the second wicket and bowled 6 maidens, an incredible spell. At the second drinks break North Shore are 2/77 off 34 overs, they need 6 an over to win, Manly in the match due to great bowling and fielding.

A battle ensued, North Shore forced to take risks which paid off for them and passed our total in the 47th over. Whilst it is disappointing to lose the match, the boys may have feel 20 runs short of total required to win, however they fought their way into the match in the field. A number of batsmen got starts which shows they are in form we are travelling okay.

Well done boys, your effort cannot be questioned.
