The weather forecast and rain through the week getting a game did not seem possible. However, the suppa soppa and start delayed by 10 minutes allowed the game to go ahead.Asked to bowl by the guests Ethan found the edge Logan took the catch at second slipsecond over of the day and Toby trapping the batsman in front in the third over, theCoasters were 2/1 after three overs, a great start to the season.
Two of the Central Coast bats put together a solid partnership of 121. Tom bowled solidduring the tough period as did Sam on debut. Joel broke the partnership drawing thebatsmen from his crease Lachie removed the bails. The Manly boys were invigorated Samtook his maiden scalp and followed with another. Toby and Joel combined to slow the runrate which stopped the Coasters from passing 200, which appeared inevitable.
After a yummy lunch, Ky and Logan strode to the crease. Logan got an absolute beauty, many would say he did well to get an edge. Ky and Joel batted solidly against tight bowlingand good fielding for a 76 run partnership. Jackson putting the team first was out for a rarediamond duck. Joel and James got the team back into the game with a 51 run partnership.Tom kept us in the game keeping the scoreboard ticking over.
Unfortunately, the Manly boys were a little of the pace today and the Central Coast boyswere on, we fell 19 runs short. Glimpses of our ability were on show today, no doubt theboys will bounce back.
